There are many different sports that take place in France. One such sport that is widely popular in not only France but all around the world is the Tour de France. The Tour de France is one of the world’s greatest biking marathons. Participants from all around the world can be a part of the Tour de France. For several years, Austin, Texas native Lance Armstrong was the main winner for Tour de France. This was such a major accomplishment for the United States to be able to have someone from another country win in the Tour de France.  Luckily, France is very kind enough to allow participants from all over the world take part in the Tour de France. The Tour de France, which can easily be compared to as an Olympic festival for bikers, takes place every year, typically during sometime in July.

 

Another widely popular French sporting venue is called “football”. In America, this is known as soccer. The French embrace soccer just as much as the Americans embrace football. There are large numbers in attendance for the French soccer games. Many French teams play against one another, and have been a large part of the playing field for well over a hundred years in some instances. It is very evident in most instances that soccer is truly a French loved game, but is honestly loved in so many cultures all around the world.

 

Another sport that French love to play is basketball. There are many players on NBA teams that originate from France. One such player is Tony Parker, who plays for the San Antonio Spurs. Having played in France for many years, including while in school, Tony Parker is a true pride for not only those in France, but for America as well. Tony Parker is a fine example of the influence that French sports have in America and vice versa.

Many men and women are surprised when they realize that they are already educated in many sporting events that can be originated back to France. Learning about French sporting venues can enhance one’s understating for French sports as well as teach them how to play a new sport. To be able to surround one’s self with new sports is to be worldly, and truly interested in learning about French sporting venues.  Teaching others how to play a new game can not only be fun for the sports lover, but for introducing the game to those that may be new lovers of the French sporting venues, too.
